Academic Opportunities

The program offers students the option of completing an internship ore research experience within the biomedical sciences. The internship requires students to participate in work experiences related to the biomedical sciences at either on- or off-campus locations. Potential work sites include hospitals, clinics, public health agencies, medical service, and/or equipment providers. Research is another special opportunity available to biomedical sciences students. A student may collaborate with their research mentor on an ongoing project in the laboratory of the mentor, or conduct independent research under the guidance of the mentor.

Experiential Learning

Experiential learning is a valuable educational component that allows students to "learn through doing" and then reflect on those experiences. The opportunities stated above reflect the experiential learning experiences and potential work environments available to students in this program.

Study Abroad

Students interested in studying abroad should discuss their options with their advisor.

Honors and Awards

One student in the program is selected to receive the Outstanding Senior award at graduation. The Outstanding Senior should be academically high achieving, demonstrate academic integrity and serve as an example and resources for other students.
