Prior to graduation, qualified Biotechnology have the following opportunities in research projects outside the classroom:
- MT 496 Internship in Biotechnology, variable 1-12 credits, may be taken more than once by qualified biotechnology students. Student selection for internship sites is based on cumulative GPA and an interview with the prospective internship site. Although the majority of students participate in an internship, internship positions are not guaranteed. However, the faculty is committed to working to find the opportunities for qualified Biotechnology students.
- MT 499 Independent Study, variable 1-4 credits, are available to qualified students who wish to work with faculty to identify opportunities for applied research in an academic lab setting. Laboratories at universities, including UB, can provide valuable opportunities for the application of lab-based skills before graduation.
