The minor requires 6 courses (18 credits). It requires two lower division courses, ELP 200 Foundations of Education Policy and Leadership for Social Justice and ELP 201 Educational and Social Policy in Action. It requires two upper division courses, ELP 405 Sociology of Education and ELP 407 Language, Culture, and Education in a Global Society. It also requires two upper division electives to be selected in consultation with an academic advisor; the courses selected can be out of the suggested electives: AAS 355 Race, Class and Society; ECO 464 Economics of the Public Sector; ELP 492/ELP 592 American Education for International Students; ELP 406 Global and International Perspectives on Education; LAI 350 Introduction to Education; SOC 331 Sociology of Wealth and Poverty; UBE 496 Leadership for Action.
Students must achieve a minimum of 2.000 in all courses to remain in good standing in the minor.
