Experiential Learning

As the largest public research university in New York State, we pride ourselves on offering undergraduate accessibility to as many research opportunities as possible. We also strongly encourage you to take advantage of the scores of internship openings with partners in Western New York and beyond. In any given year 40-60% of those internships can lead to full time employment upon graduation.

Study Abroad

We are excited to partner with many departments to provide outstanding field opportunities from the reefs of the Caribbean to the glaciers of Greenland. Courses are available in destinations including the Adirondacks, the Everglades, Costa Rica, and more!

Extracurricular Activities

Part of being a successful member in the EVS family is your participation both in and out of class. There are many extracurricular and student groups to suit any taste and time commitment. Some notable organizations include Alpha Kappa Chi (Our professional, coeducational environmental fraternity), the Environmental Network, UB Reuse, Fossil Free UB, Air and Waste Management Association, UB Garden Club, and the Outdoor Adventures Club. See our Extracurricular Activities and Clubs page for more information.
