Experiential Learning

Independent studies are highly recommended and a 3-credit practicum is required. Independent studies, practicums and internships enable students to concentrate in a specific area of interest and to gain valuable work experience.

Study Abroad

Students are encouraged to participate in the university’s study abroad programs. ES 210/PUB 211 Behavior Driven Disease is a study abroad course well-suited towards students in the ES and other health-related majors.

Honors and Awards

Departmental Honors

The department award of program distinction is based on the UB GPA for the program (major GPA). A minimum of 50% of credits for the major program must be completed at UB. The department requires a minimum of 3.20 for “with distinction”; 3.50 for “with high distinction”; and 3.75 for “with highest distinction.”
