Experiential Learning

Internships

We offer a policy internship with the Erie County Commission on the Status of Women. This internship course offers students a unique opportunity to design public policies aimed at women's empowerment and to develop practical skills that will give them a competitive advantage in the job market. Other internships are possible for academic credit in consultation with the department's director of undergraduate studies and the supervising faculty member.

Independent Study

Independent study is available for academic credit in consultation with the department's director of undergraduate studies and the supervising faculty member.

Study Abroad

Students are encouraged to participate in study abroad programs in Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America. See the Office of Study Abroad website.

Extracurricular Activities

Undergraduate students are encouraged to meet together and participate in the activities of the undergraduate Global Gender Studies student association to develop a sense of community.

Honors and Awards

We do not have an independent scholarship program; however you may want to explore other avenues of financial assistance within the university described on the Undergraduate Admissions website.
