Academic Advice

Students who are academically strong in the math and sciences will be academically successful in the Pharmaceutical Sciences BS/MS program. The fundamental core pharmaceutical science courses involve application of mathematics to pharmaceutical science principles. Students who are successful in the BS/MS program are those with an undergraduate prerequisite math and science GPA of 3.000 or better, and required undergraduate pharmaceutical science course GPA of 3.000 or better (out of 4.000).

There’s more to being a successful student than just attending class. It is important that students consult their academic advisors when making decisions related to their academic progress. In addition to advisement, students should attend instructor office hours regularly and seek out tutoring resources before falling behind in classes. Students should declare their interest in this degree program as early as possible.

Transfer Credit Policy

Transfer courses for the required Pharmaceutical Sciences courses are considered on a case by case basis. UB accepted transfer students are urged to contact the Pharmaceutical Sciences advisor for information relevant to their situation.
