The Sociology Department offers courses related to a wide variety of social problems and institutions including family, gender, race, social class, law, social policy, crime, health, organizations, and the environment. Sociology examines how membership in different groups and interactions with social structures and social institutions affect our daily lives. A foundation in sociology prepares students for the study of law, including the study of common issues, practices, and policies established by society. The study and analysis of law is directly linked to the analysis of the social structures to which the law applies.
The Accelerated BA to Law JD Program is a unique opportunity for undergraduate Sociology students to accelerate their course of study by completing their Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor in just six years of full-time study, saving students a full year of time and tuition.
