Multicultural service learning experiences are integrated into the curriculum and through student nursing organizations at various sites. These sites include community agencies that assist with refugee health, homeless and underserved populations, environmental health, developmental disabilities and more.
The School of Nursing provides opportunities for students to engage in research by collaborating with nursing faculty and through formal mentored programs aimed developing research interests and abilities. These experiences often lead to professional presentations. The School of Nursing Center for Nursing Research (CNR) provides methodological and clinical research consultation to the School of Nursing faculty, students and staff. The CNR is a repository for information on internal and external sources of funding, including guidelines and application forms. The CNR also houses a research library and research instrument repository.
