Completing the Exercise Science BS Program

Academic Requirements

The minimum requirements to successfully complete the Exercise Science degree are:

  1. Completion of all general education requirements
  2. Minimum overall and UB GPA of 2.0
  3. Minimum major GPA of 2.0

Academic Advice

Students in the professional sequence must maintain a 2.0 GPA in required course work each semester. Failure to maintain a semester ES GPA of 2.0 will result in the student being placed on academic probation. Any student on probation who fails to achieve a semester ES GPA of 2.0 will be dismissed from the program. Any student who fails to maintain an ES major GPA of 2.0 for two consecutive semesters, regardless of semester GPA, will be dismissed from the program. Any course with an "F" grade must be repeated. A student who has been dismissed is not eligible for readmission into the major.

A semester ES GPA includes the coursework required for the major, including ES electives, taken during each semester. It does not include coursework taken that is not required for the ES major.

The ES major GPA includes all required ES coursework in the major and is a cumulative GPA. The student's HUB Academic Advisement Report includes the ES major GPA.

Transfer Credit Policy

All prerequisite coursework taken at other institutions must articulate to UB as equivalent courses. Courses that do not articulate to UB will not satisfy requirements for the major. Refer to the TAURUS website for information on courses at other schools that are equivalent to UB courses.
