The Learning Environment
The Department of Learning and Instruction (LAI) is devoted to educating teachers and conducting research related to all areas of teaching and learning. We offer graduate degrees (at both the master's and doctoral levels), advanced graduate certificates including certification programs for teacher education, and an undergraduate Education Minor.
Coursework in LAI is interdisciplinary in nature and is delivered in both an online and seated format. Class size is limited to 24 students in most courses.
About Our Facilities
LAI offers both on-campus and online classes. On-campus courses are primarily offered in Baldy Hall, while online courses are delivered through UBLearns, the University’s internet-based learning application. Regardless of delivery mode, students are expected to have access to an adequately equipped computer that meets the University’s computing standards and have basic computer competency before beginning coursework.
