Academic Requirements

In order to ensure that students are prepared to succeed in, and meet the demands of, a minor in ASL, a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.750, and 3.000 (a grade of B or better) in ASL courses is required for enrollment into the program. A GPA at this level will demonstrate that students possess the maturity and commitment to complete the requirements of the minor at a level and aptitude that shows respect for both the University at Buffalo and the Deaf community who use ASL on a daily basis.

In addition to a 3.000 GPA across all ASL courses, a minimum grade of C is required in each course.
