Cross-registration permits matriculated UB students in good standing who are enrolled in degree applicable credits to register at various colleges and universities as part of the SUNY Cross Registration and Western New York Consortium agreements without formal admission to the other institution, and without tuition charges beyond UB’s tuition and fees. Grades for courses taken through cross registration are automatically forwarded to UB and applied to the student’s permanent academic record as transfer credit. For SUNY cross-registration, students must be enrolled in at least 6 UB credits and may cross register for 6 or fewer credits at the host institution. For the WNY Consortium, only full-time students registered for at least 12 credit hours at UB are eligible to take an additional course at a participating institution, and only one course may be taken via cross-registration. Students may only cross-register for degree applicable courses when enrollment in an equivalent UB course is unavailable, or when availability of another required UB course conflicts with another required class on the student’s schedule. Procedures for cross-registration can be found on the Office of the Registrar website.
