This Course was previously mandatory for second-year Medical students, and is being continued as a Graduate Course for all interested registrants concerned with application of modern medical imaging tools to implant-containing human bodies. Biomedical implants are first introduced and then the implants? & tissues? responses to ionizing radiation are addressed as encountered, for example, in x-ray and gamma-ray imaging technologies. Ultrasound and Nuclear Chemistry imaging methods are also addressed. Interviews with actual practitioners are required in addition to three Quizzes.
