Planning and Divergent Thinking. The ENS 493/494 sequence provides students the opportunity to solve a design problem through a formal process of design as part of project team. This (3) credit course is the first in a two-course culminating design project experience. The course will introduce students to the process of design as it is ideally conducted in various industries and disciplines. This first course in the sequence will focus on the ¿divergent¿ phases of design: problem framing, needs assessment, requirements engineering, and concept development. Students will also be introduced to basic project management principles and systems engineering perspectives to support effective planning and collaboration.
