    Music 211 is the first of a two-semester course in which students develop theoretical knowledge and analytical skills associated with four different musical genres. In MUS 211, students typically study large formal structures of Western classical music and music-text relationships in nineteenth-century art song. Students gain experience with these genres through analysis, writing, and composition projects.
