PHC 510LLB Pharmaceutical Analysis

Lecture

The purpose of this course is to teach both the fundamentals and the state-of-the-art techniques for pharmaceutical and biological analyses. The course includes lectures and lab sessions The lectures cover the basic concepts in development and application of analytical procedures, introduction to important bioanalysis techniques such as chromatography, electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, liquidchromatography/mass spectrometry, quantitative method development and validation, data processing, and introduction to two hot areas in biomedical and pharmaceutical analysis: proteomics and analysis of biologics. The lab sessions will cover the operation of basic lab equipment as well as major instruments such as electrophoresis, chromatography, mass spectrometry; as well as data analysis, calibration, and validation.
