PMY 311 will provide students with the knowledge and ability to apply basic pharmacological principles involving pharmacokinetics (i.e., effects of the body on drugs) and pharmacodynamics (i.e., effects of drugs on the body). Students also will develop an understanding of how the chemical structure of a drug and its physiochemical properties determine its molecular mechanism of action and the body¿s response and handling of the drug. Information in this course is essential both for the use of drugs by healthcare professional and for drug development and design by the pharmaceutic and biotech industry.
