This course is a study of human development including special consideration of children with special needs. The course will prepare the student to practice entry level pediatric physical therapy Students will apply the components of physical therapy practice: screening, examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, intervention, outcomes assessment & evaluation, to pediatric patients. The course is offered in a lecture, laboratory and seminar format to facilitate the students problem solving and critical analysis of pediatric patients. Examination and intervention skills discussed in lecture will be applied to case scenarios and practiced in lab. Individual student preparation is required for each laboratory session.
